This is a Yamaha Xeno YTR-8335UGSII, s/n 302XXX. This is the same as the 8335GSII Xeno, but marketed for inside Japan rather than for export. A hard-to-find Gen-2 horn (Xeno II) with the improvements to the bell taper, valve casings, water keys and other tweaks which greatly improve focus and intonation compared to older Xenos. This is also the upgraded version with the gold-brass bell for a warmer, deeper sound—similar to the Bach Stradivarius 180S37G. It is in exceptional condition: silver nearly 100% with no noticeable wear at all, and you’d have to look pretty hard to find even the smallest ding or scratch. Valves are fast and smooth and quiet with very little wear and such good compression that you can hardly move the 1st and 3rd tuning slides without depressing the valves. All tuning slides free. Unlike most of the used Xenos you may be looking at, this one has just been through the shop where it was chem cleaned, detergent cleaned, polished, lubed, and had new tuning slide O-rings, piston felts and water key corks installed. Valve oil and tuning slide oil are for local pickup only and will not be shipped, but it does include a Bach 7C mouthpiece, new ProTec microfiber cloth, new ProTec leather finger protector, and new ProTec slim profile straight mute. Comes with the original Japan-only hard case with external wear but structurally solid and with both keys.
