Description: WWII Era Original US Army CASE Fighting Knife & Leather Scabbard - Very Nice Condition Up for sale is a WWII Era Original US Army CASE Fighting Knife w/Leather Scabbard. The knife has a Stacked Leather Washer handle with a 6" Fluted Blade. The knife is 10 3/8" overall length. This item is used, see photo's for condition. No nicks or chips in the blade. No rust on the blade. Some minor surface pitting on the blade and at the base of the blade below the markings, see photo. The knife is marked on the blade: CASE. The leather handle is in Nice Condition. The leather has darkened slightly with age. No cracks or breaks in the leather, just the normal handling marks. The guard is tight. The pommel is aluminum and has grooves cut around the edge of the pommel, see photo. The Leather Scabbard is not original to the knife, but is a period replacement. If you see M.H. Coles Book's "Best of US Military Knives, Bayonets & Machetes", page 93, item #3. This would make a great accessory to add to your WWII collection. Please see photos.
