She was another vessel that was completed as a troopship by Western Pipe & Steel Co., San Francisco, Calif. The C3 design was not specific to any service or trade route. It was designed to be a general purpose ship that could be modified to specific uses. The C3 was larger and faster than the C1 and C2 contemporaries. "On 1 June 1944 the SEA FIDDLER sailed from San Francisco and was gone exactly four months, visiting the following Southwest Pacific ports: Milne Bay, Oro Bay, Finschhafen, Espiritu Santo, Guadalcanal (twice), Eniwetok (twice) and Guam."
