Description: WWI Army Signal Corps Photo Cards, Lot of 2 Image 17028, has Signal Corps logo. Antiaircraft Gun positions near Montcel-Enger manned by troops of the Seventh Machine Gun Battalion, Third Division. Montcel-Enger, France. July 5, 1918. 7" x 5" cardstock. Reverse side has a faint "51" ink stamped in the corner. It appears they put the typed paper on the bottom for the master, and then made higher volume cards.Image 53090 - Looking north from Hill 204 toward Ninety-First Division P. C. in Bois de Very, 2 kilometers east of Cheppy. Feb. 15, 1919. 8-1/2" x 6-1/2". Still has the original typed paper which would have been duplicated to make the higher volume cards. Has an additive "U.S. OFFICIAL" in the lower right of the image under the paper strip. Aside from standard European war terrain, there appears to be man-made zones dug into the landscape which may be barbed wire/mine/etc areas. Used, as-is. Paper has darkened with age. Pencil mark on the reverse of the larger one. See attached pictures.
