Description: WWII era military themed sake cup still wrapped in newspaper dating from 1938 and 1939. This cup is apart of the well known “sake cup hoard” that I purchased while in Japan in 2020: over 600 cups were found in untouched condition still wrapped in newspaper from before WWII. They have now made their rounds on eBay and are being sold by dealers such as IMA for $95 each. The design is of two crossed flags (one the Army rising sun flag and the other the Japanese national flag), the IJA star insignia, and the kanji which translates to “commemoration”. (These would have likely been gifted as retirement presents). These have sold quickly in the past so don’t miss out on owning a unique piece of Japanese military history. Shipping: USPS Ground Advantage Handling time: 2-3 days Note: I have not unwrapped any cups to verify condition. However, all cups are the same design and I have shown an example of it in the listing photos. I suggest leaving these cups as is since the value comes from them being virtually untouched for over 80 years (this’s entirely up to the buyer though). YOU RECEIVE ONLY ONE CUP.
