Description: WSMB New Orleans Radio Station Transcription Acetate Slick - 1951 - 33 1/3 This item is an Original Transcription Acetate Slick from 1951 that features a Recording of "Ceremony Of Carols"(Britten) - It is possible that Britten refers to Benjamin Britten, however, we have not attempted to play this Rare Acetate so we cannot say for sure just who is truly recorded on the Disc. The Label Reads as follows: Recorded By WSMB - NBC In New Orleans - Lateral Cut - 33 1/3 Speed Side #1) Ceremony Of Carols(Britten) Part 1 Side #2) Ceremony Of Carols(Britten) Part 2 The Disc is also Hand Dated as December 1951 By M.P. / L.P. Even more difficult to determine is what exactly M.P & L.P. stands for but this may be the initials of the recorder or producer. The Disc is presented in an old yellow AudioDiscs sleeve and while this is not likely the sleeve that would have been issued with the Disc, it is how we received it and the new owner will will also receive it in this same sleeve. The Disc likely never had a true cover as was the nature for most Acetate Discs. We have not attempted to play this Disc and we give a Visual Grade of Very Good(+) and expect it would play very well if tried. Buy It Now Offers are always Welcome!
