Description: WONDERFUL antique/vintage large sterling silver, silver base metal jadeite, onyx and jasper frog and fetish animal earrings. These delightful earrings are 3” long by 1” wide and weigh 21 grams. They feature large, dimensional silver metal frogs that hang from sterling silver ball and post fasteners and gorgeous green jadeite beads and from which hang a variety of hand-carved onyx and jasper fetish animals that include bears, rabbits, wolf, buffalo, etc. These earrings are beautifully made with exceptional detail. The little fetish animals are all hand-carved and they are particularly fine examples of this type of craftsmanship. The frogs are spectacular and look decidedly Mayan in their design. I am at a bit of a loss as to the creator of these delightful earrings. The artisan was quite skilled and certainly had a trained eye for design. These earrings are fabulous on the ear and they really make a statement. The ball, posts and clutches have been tested as sterling silver.
