Description: This Rolfs soft red leather clutch purse is a must have accessory as it shows little to no use. The front is embellished with pink daisys trimmed in a gold paint & metal (brass?) studs in the centers. The interior is lined with fabric, red background with white daisy’s and black stems & leaves. There is a coin purse with a snapped flap & the same daisy print inside. This is where the Rolfs name is stamped in gold. Behind the coin purse are two gold trimmed (not real gold) photo booklets with room for 4 photos. The Rolfs tag is still in one booklet. Next, is a gold trimmed pocket for cash. The Rolf Company was started in 1915, West Bend, WI. The company quickly grew & clutch purses like this were in “fine department stores.” I haven’t seen anything with this much detail and in such bright & beautiful condition. This probably was made in the 1950’s, but I’m not sure as it was in a woman’s leather satchel from Germany. She immigrated in 1925. I repeat that the gold is decorative & not real gold. The gold paint may have some karat level, but all that can be sure is that this was a beautiful, bright treasure to have.
