Description: Wet Plate Collodion 8x10 EKC 2D w/ Beck Brass Lens Large Format Outfit For your consideration: Eastman 2D 8x10 Camera with replacement bellows. The camera shows the normal wear and use from previous owners and are consistent with average age; wood has a nice patina. There are some holes from previous screws, but nothing that will detract or hinder use. I did not notice any cracks or splits in the wood. The metal trim shows some tarnish, consistent with age; I left it original. All the movements work as they should and lock in place. The camera has its rear extension rail. The back can be rotated for vertical or horizontal photography. The camera can be mounted onto a tradition tripod with a 1/4-20" thread. The tripod pictured is not included in this listing; demonstration only. The brass lens is an R. J. Beck 12x10 Lens (about 16") with 1 waterhouse stop and the original lens metal lens cap. The lens has a nice patina, has the normal scratches and dings; the lens shade has a minor ding and is not perfectly round, but accepts the lens cap nicely. The glass is clear with some minor separation on the edges - nothing that will hinder or affect image quality. Included with the listing are two NEW 8x10 wet plate collodion tanks. The tanks are handmade and have inserts and dippers included. The inserts are made of high impact acrylic (3/16" or 1/4" Lexan - I use either) and will hold up to the chemicals used in collodion photography. The inserts are removable for cleaning. The outer developing tank is made of pine/birch, stained with mahogany stain, and coated with several layers of polyurethane. The inside of the tank is coated with boiled linseed oil which helps protect the wood. The lid is hinged, has a draw catch on the front to keep the lid secure. The fixing tank is made of clear acrylic so that the fixing process is visible; and has a lid. The wood frame is made from 3/8" cherry wood, stained, and coated with several layers of polyurethane. Both tanks can be inclined back. Tanks are handmade in America; because they are not assembly-lined produced no two are alike. The glass drying rack is made from 3/8" cherry wood, stained, and coated with several layers of polyurethane. The rack will hold 4x5 up to 8x10 glass/metal. The plate holder is a New Lund 8x10 holder, made for wet plate use. I have made a 5x7 and 4x5 insert that will fit inside the holder for accepting smaller plate sizes. If you already have a holder or want to purchase your own from Lund, I will deduct the price difference from the listing. I have no mark up on the holder, pricing is the same cost if you wanted to purchase directly from Lund. I am offering only at convenience. Please note that the inserts are what I make and will not be included if buyer desires to purchase the holder direct. The 5x7 and 4x5 inserts can be purchased separately.
