Description: Wen-Mac Texaco Tanker Replacement Parts: DISPLAY BASE Fix up or upgrade your old Wen-Mac Texaco Tanker with these new replacement parts. Display base only, tanker not included! The Wen-Mac display base (stand) was an optional item which could be ordered for $1 in 1961. It was made quickly- every expense was spared! The pine wood had planer chatter marks, often included knots and sap seepage, and was unfinished. These reproductions also feature unfinished wood, but there's no reason you can't finish them as you like. The edges are beveled just like the originals. I have a few in Asian Rubberwood, which is similar to pine but with a less pronounced annual ring. It is more stable than pine. The pine boards are select appearance boards with no knots. I pick the best wood I can find, but offer no guarantee regarding flatness in the short or long term. The plastic chocks and data plates are exact replicas of the originals, except they are painted instead of bare plastic, in either the dark or bright red versions (same as the two hull colors). There was no guarantee of which color would ship from Wen-Mac, so there's no authenticity issue with mixed sets. But here you can choose!
