The cover is made of high impact polymer resin for maximum strength and durability and includes the housing O-ring. It measures 9-7/8" long and 2-3/4" in diameter. The clear cover is installed into the bottom of the filter body, which is the white T at the top that is plumbed into the water line. Just unscrew the old cover and install the replacement cover in it's place. Remember, hand tighten only! This part is compatible with 1-1/2" Vu-Flow or Rusco cold water spin-down screen filter and sediment trapper systems. How do you know what size filter system you have? Filter systems are identified by the size of the inlet/outlet ports of the white T filter body plumbed into the water line. A 1-1/2" filter system means the diameter of those ports measure 1-1/2". It does not indicate the diameter of this replacement cover.
