Description: Available is a Vintage 1920's Uranium Depression Glass Green Measuring Cup & A&J Hand Mixer Egg Beater -- Gently Used - NO Chips or Cracks! Here's more details: Interesting and antique green and uranium glass measuring cup (glows under black light). And a hand mixer - egg beater - from A&J. LOOK AT ALL PHOTOS PLEASE Rotary style eggbeater - food mixer comprised of two bulb shaped, two-winged blades, bent sheet metal attached at top to two cog wheels and a large metal crank wheel. Handle is wood - originally painted in a jade - jadeite - type of green. However, most of the paint is worn off exposing the wood or undercoat of ivory paint. Mixer is attached to a single piece of sheet metal which sits on top of the glass measuring cup. Measuring / mixing cup has embossed gradations of 1/2 cup - 1 cup - 1&1/2 cup and 2 cups plus ounce equivalents on each side. Crankwheel is engraved with A&J diamond trademark - MADE IN UNITED STATES OF AMERICA - PAT. OCT. 9, 1923. Patent referenced is likely US 1470169 A, October 9, 1923, Charles E. Kail, Binghamton, New York for "Egg beater". Maker of mixer is A&J Manufacturing, Binghamton, New York - which was purchased by Ecko Housewares Company in 1929. NOTE: The A&J Crankwheel has surface rust which can be easily removed or leave as is. Turns easily - fully functional. Measuring cup is 4 & 1/2 inches across. It has a raised foot and the bottom is embossed: 'Patent Applied For'. Artichoke pattern - repeats 4 times. CONDITION: The mixing/measuring cup is in excellent condition - there are NO chips or cracks. The egg beater has some surface rust, as may be seen in photos, but it turns freely and smoothly. The wooden handle has some wear and paint loss, as may be seen in photos.
