Description: The Gilberts FOR TALLY Let this versatile flowy summery sheer dress, made in the late 70s to very early 80s by Gilberts for Tally of New York, take you to party, tea, garden party, or career! It features a shirtfront bodice pintucked down to a little below the waist with moderately full sleeves gathered into single-button wrist bands. The stand-up collar continues to form a tie. It has luxury features such as self-covered buttons and crocheted snap lingerie straps in the shoulders. Fabric is a floaty sheer chiffon in a beautiful pastel floral print which you can see in the swatch photo below. Material content is not marked. Dress is fully lined with the exception of the sleeves. The design of this dress was originally meant to be free and flowy. The original owner wanted it a little shorter and cut off three inches from the lower edge. She also wanted a belt, so she had the edge of the cut-off piece hemmed and used it for a belt. We show it with the belt, as well, and include it for you. Please see all of the photos below! Dress is in beautiful condition with no flaws. It has just been dry cleaned for your convenience.
