Description: VERY RARE VINTAGE 1983 WMMS 100.7 FM CLEVELAND OHIO BUZZARD CLOCK A TRULY 1 OF A KIND FOR THE SERIOUS COLLECTOR I have owned this for 40+ yrs and you may never see another one in existence, as I have not. This was made by the famous artist, illustrator & cartoonist David Helton in 1983. So we have to thank both John Gorman for coming up with the buzzard idea & local artist David Helton for actually creating the Wmms Buzzard Mascot in 1974 which launched one of the most iconic Rock & Roll stations in the nation & it was highly popular in the 1970's & 1980' in fact they even won the Rolling Stones "Radio Station Of The Year" award from 1979 to 1987. So if you want to own a rare piece of Cleveland Rock & Roll history and want something your Wmms collector friends do not have this would be it & I am sure this will end up with another Buzzard loving home !! The clock is still in fantastic shape and it does have some minor things (see pics) a chip out of the lower right corner but not through the glass & a scratch between the letter M & S but it looks great and there is nothing that is a an eye sore & it is fully functional. I have had this displayed in my current office for going on 25 yrs. and its meant to hang on a wall or you could display it like I did sitting in a picture frame holder for a nice desk view. It measures 8" X 8" and it is marked 1983 David Helton (see pic) Making this right during the prime award winning years of WMMS. THANKS FOR LOOKING !!
