The back cover features two classic wooden vehicles; one of the familiar Model A Station Wagon, the other the massive "Spruce Goose" built by Howard Hughes. This issue also features a four-color center spread by MAFCA member Richard Kirkman of Merced, Calif. The incredibly detailed cutaway draw ing of a 1929 Closed Cab Pickup was produced by Mr. Kirkman as a part time effort spanning a year and a half. He owns a Model A like the one illustrated, which he drove to the 1984 MAFCA National in Portland.
