Description: Vintage WWII Women's Red Cross Volunteer Cap Head Covering Fabric w/ Note 27.5" long x 15" wide with 1" x 1.5" Red Cross stitched onto one edgeFabric is cotton, all edges are hand hemmedThere is a technique for pinning this to wear as a cap, but we haven't figured out how it works! The cap includes a note written on a pieces of thin cardboard. The note says: "I earned this Red Cross cap working at the Red Cross while Merle was at Kearns Utah 1944" and "72 hours!" and "Frank worked in Geneva at the Base." The reverse side of the note has the same writing, but indicates that Geneva is in Nebraska. I do not have the name of the original owner. This was acquired from an estate in Lincoln, Nebraska. Condition is good, some yellowing and dust on fold lines.
