Description: Vintage The Golden Rule Foundation Donation Globe Tin Lithograph 4” Globe Apparently The Golden Rule Foundation would have these globes stationed at various places to collect donations for their charitable operation. Now at four inches in diameter you’d think you couldn’t collect much, think again señor as inflation has risen over 2000% since the 1940’s That’s right a mere five cents would equal approximately $1.05, aye caramba! I’m not sure about the actual age of this globe but from the others I’ve seen I’d assume late 1930’s or early 40’s, definitely pre WW2 as Germany is a single country. Also looking at the globe there’s no Ukraine as is was part of the Soviet Union. Checking out Africa is quite interesting as there’s huge part labeled French West Africa that was a federation of eight French colonial territories till 1958. Lastly condition, no doubt about it this puppy seen better days. It has what can lovingly be considered an earned patina. That’s right I’m a slick huckster selling a well worn item with a positive spin, seriously missed my calling as a used car salesman or politician. Actually I’m too honest for either profession. Please view all photos as 80 years has taken its toll, there’s paint loss and dents with other surface imperfections. Now back to putting a positive spin on this interesting and dare I say collectible item. Condition aside this is somewhat rare item and for those interested in global history it might be quite fascinating. So how was that?
