Description: Up for grabs for your next project is a pair of 1950s Stow and Davis architectural chairs. These are probably some of the most solid built chairs I have ever seen, the weight alone is impressive. Solid wood frame reminiscent of George Nelson and Edward Wormly. Built in Grands Rapids Michigan. They still retain original paper label You will have to look past the horrendous re-upholstery that the chairs suffer at one and focus on the potential of the clean lined, geometric walnut frames and what they would look like in a boucle or other period style fabric. The frames are in good shape except one leg has a chip to bottom. These would be simple to re-upholster with any skill person. The seat is a bucket style back and bottom that can be removed from frame. And the arm panels are held on with screws from underneath. Foam should also be replaced if reupholstered. I had cut a small slit on one of the chairs to check if original upholstery was under the current fabric but I couldn’t see any traces. Pick up is preferred or we can work on arranging uship or other pick up delivery service. Don’t hesitate to Ask any questions you can think of.
