Description: Up for sale is a nice Stoddard Special bamboo fly rod. This rods actual length is just over 8’ 1” and it weighs 5oz (it feels like it would handle 5-6wt fly lines just fine). Although I am not 100% certain, I believe this rod was built for Dame Stoddard by the Amherst Rod Company. With that being said, this is a quality rod, but it does show some wear and it needs some minor work. One of the snake guides is missing from the mid-section. Also, one of the tips is about 1/4” short. Both of the tips and the mid-section have slight sets. The varnish has some markings; however, they are purely cosmetic. The butt-cap has a small dent as well. The ferrules still fit tight, but they do need a good cleaning. This rod comes with the sock (it has some holes in it).
