Description: Here is a vintage statuette of Our Lady of Fatima, circa 1950s in age and made by the Catholic Statuary Company. The inventory number C.S.192 is incised on the reverse near the bottom, see photo #5. This is hand painted solid chalk (plaster) and stands 12” tall, including the octagonal pediment base which is 3/4” thick and 3 by 3 1/4” in size. It is a collectible piece, showing early use of slightly iridescent paint, and with gilded touches to the virgin's cloak. It depicts her as uncrowned, just as the Fatima children saw her, without the crown and other additions as in subsequent images made to include later religious commemorations. The statue is graded in Very Good condition, but note some slight surface nicking to the lower back only, since the statue was once kept in a grotto niche- a collectible vintage statuette of Out Lady of Fatima.A postage and handling contribution of $20.00 is included in the listing price for this item, since, because of its fragility, it must be double boxed for safer shipping.
