All machine wiring was checked, cords, light, motor and foot pedal. The foot pedal was taken apart, cleaned and rewired due to a faulty cord. The oil felt pad on bottom cover was replaced. The buyer pays $25.00 shipping fee anywhere within the continental United States of America. The Singer Model 301 was engineered for Singer's 100th Anniversary. It was unlike any other in the past 100 years of sewing machine production. It was the first of the" slant needle" machines to provide easy vision of work. The bobbin assembly is the same marvel of engineering as the Featherweight 221. The 301 was made in Elizabeth, New Jersey and before 1953, in Anderson, South Carolina. The factory in Anderson was built expressly to manufacture the new machine. After 1953 the machines made in Anderson were designated as 301A. There were a total of 700,000 301 and 301A machines made. 10,000 of these were made in 1951 and the rest between 1952 and 1957.
