A 1950s era catalog lists the medicine cabinet as the #254 Cherub/Dolphin medicine cabinet available in one size only in brass or gold plate or silver plate.The cabinet features a shell at the top flanked by dolphins. Cherubs with entwined fish tails are found on the side supports. Square corner blocks are decorated with a single sea shell. The reeded frame is crisscrossed with ribbons.Two mirrored doors with ball knobs slide sideways on a metal track. The interior of the cabinet has two adjustable glass shelves.The medicine cabinet is designed to be mounted into a wall recess.The Sherle Wagner catalog indicates the medicine cabinet fits into a wall opening of 30 1/4" in width and 21 1/2" in height with a depth of 4 5/8".On the exterior, the cabinet measures 32" in width and 26 3/4" in height. The interior of the cabinet measures 29 1/2" in width and 21" in height with a depth of 3 1/2" behind the door track. The two glass mirror doors measure 15" in width and 18 1/2" in height.Dating from the 1950s, the medicine cabinet shows minor age appropriate wear. The left mirror door has a loss of silvering at the bottom edge.The Sherle Wagner Cherub/Dolphin gold plated medicine cabinet is presented in very good vintage condition.
