Winston Bamboo Boat Rod. See Description. Up for sale is a vintage R.L. Winston boat rod. This rod is complete; however, it needs a thorough restoration. As you can see from the photos, all of the guide wrappings show their age, and they are worn. Also, the tip guide needs to be replaced (it is missing a piece). The bamboo itself is solid, but it needs to be cleaned and revarnished. The handle still fits nicely. With the handle installed this rod measures 6' 5 1/2" (without the handle it measures 5' 2 1/2").All-in-all, this would make for a nice project to help get through the winter months!
