Description: Stunning Vintage Phoenix-Consolidated Sculpted Vase Geese in Flight Vessel Earthenware Shown is a striking Phoenix Consolidated layered vase. It boasts 3-dimensional flying geese in relief on both sides of the vase. The glass company began making what they referred to as their 'sculpted designs in the 1930’s. This particular line of is still highly sought after by collectors today. The vase is finished in a company-named color called ‘brown shadow.’ A few other colors / or combinations of colors were also used for the flying geese design. We find the ‘brown shadow’ works especially well, as an earthy color/ tone. It evokes an aesthetic sensibility fitting for a themed geese migration in autumn. Also noteworthy is the effect of bold contrasting colors which further emphasize the design in 3-dimensional deep relief.
