Description: Vintage Ecko Straight & Angled Scissor Type Kitchen Tongs (Set of 2) Since the 1970's, we have had these two tongs in one of our kitchen drawers. One of the tongs was never used and we have no idea what it is used for or what purpose it serves!The smaller tongs are classic kitchen staples. Measuring 8" in length and made by Ekco USA, these stainless-steel tongs are a straight scissor-type design. There is some discoloration at the pivot point that I did not try to remove. The longer tongs measure just under 9.5" long and have a forceps-like design. Made of stainless-steel, they have an angled scissor-type handle with a textured grabber to better hold onto things. I'm not sure why we owned these or what they're used for, but they are marked STERI-TONGS PAT. PENDING. They might have been used for sterilizing things such as baby bottles or medical tools given the angled design, so your hand isn't directly over scalding steam.
