Description: GORGEOUS amply sized hand carved wooden snail from the mid-20th century Lower section has short gouge strokes for the body Shell section has wide bands on one side and an artsy carved swirl on the other Bottom is smooth with two holes This is a vintage piece and does show some cosmetic imperfections:Dark streaky lines in the grain~~small fissue on head in between antenna Bottom has a smudgy discoloration and a tiny little siverly spot I found several little spots on the body and a few tiny teeny little rough spots Several of the very dark lines on the banded side look like part of the grain~the top one is slightly rough to the touch on far end~~it almost feels like a scratch but I think it may be a natural formation of the grainAnd a few tiny little miniscule nicks in a few places and on the back of the shell is a surface scratchSee photosBIG! 13" long 8" highAntennae are 2" long~~Head is 2.25" highBottom is 10.75" long and 3.5" wide in the center This weighs just about 2 pounds and 10 ounces..it's a big one Shipping will be $17.99
