Description: VINTAGE MARK ROBERTS GORGEOUS CHRISTMAS STAR FAIRY SANTA 22" IN BOX - This is a vintage Mark Roberts Fairy from the early 2000's. He measures 22" from the top of his jingle bell located at the top of his hat all the way to the bottom of his shoes - see last two pics. He measures 16" from the top of his head to the bottom of his shoes. This was considered as a "small size" 20 +years ago, and his box is marked as small. Now days a small fairy is only 9 to 11 inches tall, so he would be considered as a medium or large if sold today. He is such a beautiful Fairy with the sweetest face and eyes. His outfit is loaded with all of the elegant details that Mark Roberts is known for. The jacket features a top layer of gold organza or organdy covered in red velvet swirls. There are two rows of gold trim that go all around his collar and down to the upper part of the placket. One of the trims is gold metal with each metal setting featuring red jewels. It is all very regal looking. One of the gold trims continues on down the coat and goes all around the hem both front and back. His sleeve cuffs are also gold trimmed. His red velvet knee pants have a fine gold stripe and are finished with gold trim. I love his metal starburst staff with beaded jewel, and the cluster of stars hanging from the chains of his belt which has a red jewel at the center. The pointed Santa like hat is crafted of the same red velvet and gold stripe as the pants and is trimmed with the same gold metal and red jewels as the coat collar. The hat is finished with a white feather on one side and a jingle bell at the top. The black gold star shoes are made out of either porcelain or resin - not sure which and are hand painted. This is how Mark Roberts used to make the shoes 20 + years ago and then changed to cloth shoes to cut cost. The shoes have a moon sitting on the curved tip but one shoe is missing the moon. The shoes really complete the overall outfit. He is in beautiful, excellent condition and has been well cared for. His box is also in excellent shape and still retains the twisted rope and cardboard backer that were once used to package all the fairies.
