About the Artist: Lenore Beran Lenore Beran was born in Chicago in 1925 and moved to California in the late 1930s where she studied extensively with Hal Reed of the Art League of Los Angeles as well as with with Ron Labyorteaux, Beran became an integral part of the local art community as President of the Burbank Art Association and as a respected member of a number of other local art groups including the San Fernando Valley Art Club, the Beverly Hills Art League, and the Laguna Beach Art-A-Fair. She enjoyed considerable commercial success with her paintings and later with a series of collector plates bearing her images. Her work was displayed and sold in her own gallery in Sherman Oaks as well as in a galleries in Hawaii. In fact, her works were displayed throughout the entire continental United States, Canada and Hawaii, where she won more than 50 awards in major competitions, and was honored with many one-women shows. Beran’s style is modern impressionistic, and she has a very distinctive signature. Beran continued to be a familiar figure on the art scene in the San Fernando Valley in the Los Angeles area throughout the greater part of her life, but eventually, moved to Placerville in the heart of the California Gold Country. Although she passed away in 2005, she continues to have a large following, and her work remains highly collectible.
