Description: This is a set of vintage Laurel & Hardy ceramic-chrome figurines from 1973. These figurines are a great addition to any collection and are perfect for fans of early television and silent movies. We were ecstatic when we got our first black and white television with rabbit ear antennas to tune in the station. And the first shows were silent movies. Everyone loved these two characters who brought a fun slapstick comedy theme to television. The duo released 106 films between 1921-1951. Starting with silent movies they later transitioned to what was known as "talkies." If you hear someone say, "Well, another fine mess you got me into." it is a quote attributed to Stan Laurel. Anyways, these figurines can bring up a lot of history. Hopefully, the right person will find these and they will bring back a lot of good memories of times gone by. The bases look like they could be bookends. However, the figurines are not that heavy. If used in a bookend fashion, I would not place many books between them, possibly one or two max. Myself, I would have been so disappointed had I caused such a mishap. OMG! I can't believe I forgot to take photos. I just snapped these sitting on my desk, my messy desk, to be used during my research. I about completed my listing, securely wrapped, wrapped again, and then more to make sure they would travel safely . Went to upload and no pictures. No way was I going to start again. My apologies.
