Description: Vintage Large VDO GERMANY Car Clock 8 DAY Convex Glass VW Split Window 356 Pre-A Here’s a vintage VDO “Kienzle” 8 days clock, I would guess from the 1950’s but I’m not sure. It has an angled aluminum mounting housing bracket as shown in the photos. It still ticks and runs when wound, though it probably needs cleaning, adjusting and servicing by a knowledgeable expert. Seems to run fast, gaining time. It has a convex glass face with a small scratch or two that don’t show up in the photos. The beveled trim rim was painted black but doesn’t look too bad under the paint. It is a large gauge, about 120mm across, about 4.75 inches. Perhaps fits an opening of about 115 mm or 4.5 inches if you didn’t use the housing. I picked this up decades ago for a Porsche 356 Pre-A project and never used it.
