Description: A Landcaster & Sandland hand painted earthenware Toby jug of the fictional sleuth Sherlock Holmes. A unique design with a tobacco pipe for the handle. It was modeled and designed by T.H. Sandand in Hanley Staffordshire between 1940 and 1950. It measures approximately 4" high, 4" ear to handle and about 2 3/4" in diameter. It's in very nice condition without stains, cracks or chips. There is some light crazing.
