Description: Vintage Italian Majolica Turtle Dish with Rabbit inside by Meiselman Imports This is an absolutely adorable Vintage MCM era Italian Majolica Hand Painted and glazed Lidded Turtle Dish with a tiny, sculpted and hand painted Rabbit sitting inside when opened. The inside of the piece is also glazed. This was created in Italy for Meiselman Imports. The piece is marked K1450 on the underside. Meiselman Imports is known worldwide for its selections of international and Italian porcelain and ceramics that are creative and playful which was popular in the Mid-Century era. This piece measures approximately 11" long by 10" wide by 3.5" high. It is in excellent vintage condition with no visible anomalies. This is a wonderful, FUN piece of Italian MCM pottery that would add joy to any environment. It sure is an original take on the Tortoise and the Hare parable.
