Description: I have used this tester to test many tubes. I checked it against other testers and it was always very close. The case is solid and looks good. Meter works very well, as do all the controls. I replaced bad sockets, and now all are good. Pictures show the unit testing some tubes. Results are reasonably accurate. One of the tubes is leaky, and the tester glows the neon short light matrix. This matrix is described in the manual, and the dark position encode the type of leakage failure. This particular leaky tube (6AU6) has two failure modes that show up by tapping the tube. Pictures show both leakage failures. The EL34 is definitely bad, and the 6000A tester agrees. Tubes shown in the pictures are for demo only and do not come with the sale. I tested and calibrated this unit. Calibration of these units is always a compromise, and I set it to be reasonably accurate across a broad range of tube types. The 6000A is not a laboratory instrument, but it will give you reasonably accurate transconductance readings. It's good if you're matching tubes. It also has an "English" scale which gives you a good/bad result. I tested most of the functions. I don't have the tubes needed to verify a few of the unusual test settings. Tester comes with manual and some extra tube test data charts. Depending on your location, tester may ship by USPS, FedEx Ground, or UPS Ground. Expedited shipping is available for a lot more money.
