Description: Here is a Vintage HANS HARTUNG Catalog Booklet with Genuine Numbered WALLPAPER Sample Inside. It is written in German. I don't speak German fluently, but I managed to understand a little, and also I found the way to translate what seemed important to me. I cannot find the year of this catalog, but there is a list of the Hans Hartung's important dates, and this kind of biography/resume stops at 1956, even though he died much later. So I have reasons to think that this catalog was maybe made in 1956, or maybe 1957, which would be coherent with what I know about its previous owner. This catalog is about Hans Hartung's drawings and watercolors from 1921 to 1954, and underneath, it is written:etching and lithography, maybe these are the techniques of the images at the end of this catalog. Inside, there is a wallpaper sample printed on paper which looks like a slightly textured watercolor paper. It is attached at the spine, we can see a small part of it on the other side of the binding signature. The original artwork may be by Hans Hartung or inspired by him, because it looks a lot like his art. This wallpaper sample is numbered at the back: F 1/57. Which could mean that it is the number 1 of 57 copies, maybe. If it is the case, and if each sample is numbered differently, it could mean that this catalog is also a limited edition. This sample is so gorgeous that it would deserve to be framed and shown on a wall. I know this catalog is very rare and I know it is valuable. It also has a sentimental value to me, but I also think that it should be cherished and owned by someone who knows and loves Hans Hartung more than I do myself. Size of this Catalog / Booklet: 8 3/16" long x 5 13/16" wide, a little more than 1/8" thickThere are 44 numbered pages, but after that, there is the printed wallpaper sample and behind that, a bunch of other pages which look like ads for art shows in a very Pop Art style. Condition: This catalog seems to have slightly yellowed with time, the spine and edges of the cover show some light wears and there is a crease on the front cover, but overall great vintage condition considering its age.
