Description: VINTAGE Egyptian Revival Scarab Earrings - Blue Carved Howlite w/ Heiroglyphs This is a BEAUTIFUL VINTAGE pair of Egyptian Revival period earrings made of carved howlite. The stone has been carved to look like scarab beetles. They were hand carved in the 1960s or 1970s at the height of the Egyptian Revival revival. These earrings are glazed with a glossy turquoise glaze to resemble natural turquoise. There are Egyptian heiroglyphs carved into the back of each earring. They have stainless steel french wire closures that are not original; they were added a few years ago. These earrings are in EXCELLENT CONDITION!
