Description: This listing is for a vintage 1980 ceramic Chanukah Gelt Tzedakah Box. My brother actually received this as a Chanukah gift in the early 1980s and never used. My parents recently came across while going through some old boxes of his stuff at their house. On the front it says "CHANUKAH GELT" with a little mouse who is holding a dreidel in one hand and a notebook in the other that reads "SAVINGS PLAN". The artist's name, Dianne Spector" appears under the mouse's tail in small letters. On the top there is a Star of David on either side. On the back it says "WHO EVER HEARD OF A JEWISH MOUSE?" and shows the back side the mouse holding a dreidel and the same notebook which now says "THANK YOU". This tzedakah box measures 4 5/8" x 3 1/8" x 2 1/8" and weighs 11.5 ounces. It is in excellent unused condition with no chips, cracks or other flaws. This is marked on the bottom "ENESCO DESIGNED GIFTWARE JAPAN" and "LITTLE CREATURES' THUMB BUDDIES © Dianne Spector". The rubber stopper on the bottom is marked "MADE IN TAIWAN". Please see the photos for more detail. Money-back guarantee.
