The brooch has a large faceted open back citrine paste (crystal) which was used commonly in Scottish jewelry. The stone is set high and supported by Sterling silver thistle leaves. The center is surrounded by 6 crescent shaped agate gemstones-heliotrope, carnelian and agate. The reverse is stamped with a lion passant (Sterling) and the initials RA indicating Robert Allison. Approximate measurements: The approximate measurement of the brooch is 1 ½” diameter. Condition: The condition of the brooch is very good to excellent pre-owned condition. *Small hairline crack in one of the Carnelian crescents *A few teeny “flea bites” on the citrine crystal noticeable upon magnified inspection.
