Vintage / Antique fountain pen lot gold, steel nibs: Sheaffer, Esterbrook, Eagle

Description: You are bidding on four (4) antique / vintage fountain pens that are in pretty good, but not perfect condition. Around 25 years ago, I used several of these pens, but I got out of the writing habit and they have been in storage ever since. Now they are ready for a new owner. Each one will need to have its rubber bladder replaced. To varying degrees, some of them will need further cleaning, refurbishing, and/or repair. Sold as is, with no guarantees about their working order. But, you may return them (in the same condition and at your postage expense) for a refund if you are unhappy with your purchase. 1. The first fountain pen appears to be from the Esterbrook J Series and it is in pretty nice condition. I do not know the date of manufacture or the model number. The grayish sliver plastic has a shiny mottled appearance that reminds me of certain types of swirl-patterned bowling balls. The steel nib is marked 2668. The only visible flaw is a small chip to the black plastic cap. I didn't use this one very often, but when I did, I used blue ink. I remember it as working just fine -- a quarter of a century ago. 2. This purple fountain pen is in generally good condition. I remember that it worked quite well and it was my second favorite pen at the time. The nib has a cute heart motif and is marked 14 k. The gold filling lever and pocket clip are marked 'Eagle Pencil Co. USA'. The flat ends are made of gray plastic. If I had to guess, I would say it was manufactured around 1950, but I'm not an antique pen expert. It could be older. I always used purple / violet ink in it. There are two flaws: the purple color has faded everywhere except where the screwed-on cap shielded it from light. The cap has some cracks and a triangular chip that can be seen in the pics. Fortunately, the triangular piece is present and fits snugly. I guess it could be carefully glued back in place by the winner of this auction, but for shipping purposes, I will put clear tape around it to secure it. 3. This black plastic fountain pen is in very good condition and was made by Scheaffer's. The stainless steel nib is marked M1. Instead of a lever, it has a screw mechanism that fills the pen. Because the ink goes into a metal tube instead of a latex bladder, this pen might actually be in working order. But, since I no longer have any ink on hand, it will be up to the winning bidder to test it. The only noticeable flaw is some wear or discoloring to the 'silver' band that encircles the cap. Like I said, this is a nice one. 4. Number four here is a smaller ladies pen that has turquoise colored bands and a gold swivel top on the cap. The base of the swivel is loose but not detached. The rectangular gold escutcheon is engraved with the original owner's initials: 'M R J'. The gold filling lever is very loose and doesn't stay in place. The gold nib is marked: The Moore Pen 2. Does that mean that Moore was the maker of the rest of the pen? That sounds plausible but I can't find any other markings. 5. BONUS: one antique Conklin mechanical pencil with gold and malachite design. I don't think it works, but the price is right. I'm throwing it in for free. Feel free to ask questions. I'll answer them as best I can. Free shipping within the USA! Please see my other auctions for a very nice gold 'Crescent' Conklin fountain pen and, as always, books.
