Description: As my Mama always told me, it's always wise to plan ahead. Fall is here. If I don't sell this item--which fits me perfectly--I plan to enjoy it come the winter, even though I don't generally care for furs--I prefer to see fur on the original owner. But I do make an exception for vintage furs, like that wonderful mid-century fashion statement, the mouton lamb coat. This beautiful specimen, the richest of mahogany browns, has the plaid taffeta lining that seems to have been the preferred fabric in the 60s--all the 50s coats I've seen stuck to a solid, rather unexciting dark satin. It's a generous cut and length--32" down the back, 17" underarm, and 17" across the shoulders. It is a swing coat with a stand up collar--best worn open to show what fashion delights are under it. The only condition issue I can see is that the loop half of the obligatory fur hook is missing. Beyond that, it seems to have been either very well cared for or not much worn, which seems a shame--when you've got something really nice, you should enjoy it.
