Description: .......The highest bidder in this auction will receive a lot of seven (7) different single 1978-86 Topps major league baseball cards portraying baseball pitching superstar and 'almost' Hall-of-Fame level (WAR of 53.6) starting lefty pitcher, Jerry Koosman, printed throughout his stellar 19-season career with four different teams. For reference, Jerry's 'true' Rookie cards, from a variety of manufacturers, are thought to have been issued in 1968. .......A 6'2" left-handed Minnesota native, Jerry first pitched in the major leagues in 1967 at the age of 24, and won more than 10 games in each of 13 of the following campaigns. With no Cy Young Awards to his credit (once named runner-up), two All-Star Games and a World Series appearance, he did total more than 220 career victories among his 527 starts, accompanied by 2,556 strikeouts. What a memorable era, and an illustrious career!! It's really hard to believe that he retired more than 35 years ago. .......Seven 'regular' cards from the 1978 through 1986 sets are offered here, with no 'special' cards. .......These items are mostly in VERYGOOD or better condition (one is somewhat-flawed, with a 'soft' corner or two, but they are all fairly well-centered (30%-70% or better left-to-right). The print on the Reverse side of one is a little off-centered in both directions. The rest would certainly qualify at least as VG or Exc by our estimation. But, wow, what great conversation pieces!!
