Vintage 1967 Bulova Accutron Astronaut w/Orange Patina,Orig Purchase Receipt

Description: ***********Although the hacking Bulova 214 tuning fork movement, which had a new battery installed in July 2024, keeps time to within 30 seconds a day given that it has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended.***********This near NOS vintage 1967 Bulova Accutron Astronaut seldom seen variant, which came from the estate of the original owner and shows little signs of use, has a lovely satin champagne "T SWISS T" signed dial that is in lovely but not perfect condition as it shows difficult to see age-related wear. This wear is nearly visually imperceptible unless under magnification. The original lume, which remains fully intact and emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light, has aged gracefully to an orange hue. In my humble opinion the dial and patina combination couldn't be more pleasing. The bezel, which is nearly without imperfection and rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension, presents beautifully. The all stainless steel case retains its original brushed and polished finish. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "BULOVA WATERPROOF STAINLESS STEEL PATENTED" with "C14613" followed by "M7" stamped along the inner edge. The crystal presents as nearly blemish free. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale given that the hacking Bulova 214 tuning fork movement had a new battery installed in July 2024 and is keeping time to within 30 seconds a day I'm not going to remove the case back. The hack feature works flawlessly by stopping the seconds hand when the latch on the recessed key next to the battery hatch is gently lifted into the vertical position. The time is set by gently turning the latch (without pulling up on it). When the latch is lowered back to its flush (level) position the seconds hand resumes running. Given that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is long overdue and recommended. This watch measures approximately 37 mm in diameter and approximately 17.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 12 mm. This watch comes on its original bracelet with "BULOVA WATCH CO.," and "S-709 ALL STAINLESS STEEL" stamped clasp and "Bulova" with Accutron emblem stamped buckle showing little stretch. I'd guestimate it'll fit up to an approximate 6.75 inch wrist. The original purchase receipt has a rip that extends from the upper left corner down through the street address, which can be clearly seen in the second to last picture.Given that the movement has likely never been serviced a complete overhaul is recommended. As such there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time.
