Description: ***********The Bulova 214 tuning fork movement with hack feature keeps time to within 30 seconds a day. Although no service paperwork will be included the movement was overhauled in July 2024.***********This vintage 1967 Bulova Accutron Astronaut has a seldom seen orange hued dial and lume that is truly special. The lume, which remains fully intact, emits a quick burst glow after being exposed to bright light. In my humble opinion the against the grain dial discoloration that begins a smidge before the 7 o'clock marker and ends a little after the 10 o'clock marker is not nearly as pronounced in person. The bezel, which shows wear and paint loss, rotates bidirectionally with an appropriate amount of tension. The all stainless steel case shows honest wear with no visible signs of oxidation. The outer edge of the case back is stamped "BULOVA WATERPROOF STAINLESS STEEL PATENTED" with "D26297" followed by "M7" stamped along the inner edge. The crystal shows scratching and dust/debris on its underbelly. While I normally show pictures of the movements of watches I put up for sale considering that the movement was given a complete overhaul in July 2024 I won't be removing the case back. No service paperwork will be included. The Bulova 214 tuning fork movement with hack feature keeps time to within 30 seconds a day. The hack feature works flawlessly by stopping the seconds hand when the latch on the recessed key next to the battery hatch is gently lifted into the vertical position. The time is set by gently turning the latch (without pulling up on it). When the latch is lowered back to its flush (level) position the seconds hand resumes running. This watch measures approximately 37 mm in diameter and approximately 17.5 mm between the lugs. Case thickness, measured from the bottom of the case back to the top of the bezel, is approximately 9.5 mm. Including the crystal thickness measures approximately 12 mm. This watch comes on a "JB Champion Stainless Steel U.S.A" and Accutron emblem stamped bracelet that I'd guestimate will fit up to an approximate 6.75 inch wrist. Although the movement was given a complete overhaul in July 2024 there are no warranties, express or implied, attached with the sale of this watch. Vintage means old and while my personal belief is that old-school means better quality and workmanship, things can and do go wrong from time to time. Any servicing costs going forward are your responsibility. Please thoroughly read this entire listing and kindly ask any and all questions you may have prior to buying as this sale is final and no refunds of any kind will be given. And please study the 16 high magnification pictures carefully as they are part of the description and serve as an accurate representation of the condition of this watch.Expedited and insured shipping along with signature confirmation will be provided. Thanks for looking!***********The Bulova 214 tuning fork movement with hack feature keeps time to within 30 seconds a day.
