Description: Up for your consideration is a large hand painted embossed Franciscan Apple Cookie Jar that measures 9 1/4" tall (without the lid) and is 22" in diameter. The cookie jar itself is in nearly mint condition without any chips, cracks, or crazing. The only flaw that I can see is a small glaze bubble which is hard to see. The cookie jar is marked with the first brown Franciscan TV backstamp which dates from 1960-1961. This is a very old piece!! The Apple pattern was the first embossed hand-painted pattern made by the Franciscan company. The pattern was introduced on January 1, 1940 and is characterized by its bright red fruit, brown branches, and glossy green leaves. This cookie jar will make a wonderful addition to your Franciscan Apple collection.
