Vintage 1950s EXCELLENT Stetson 3X Beaver Brown Size 7

Description: Excellent very late 1950s lightly used Stetson 3X Beaver - Brown Fedora. It’s a perfect everyday fedora. It’s a PERFECT size 7, read below. The Hat Box we are making that optional. That will save money on shipping. Read below.Note: After taking the pictures we found the size tag folded under the leather sweatband. We folded it back out and added a picture at the end.It is nearly perfectly shaped! It’s a real looker! This hat was worn but not many times and then stored away. If you look closely at the leather sweatband you can see there is no wear at all on it! Even the Reed is Excellent, The Reed is the part of the leather sweatband that get attached to the hat and that where you would see wear if it was worn more than a few times. Dad and grandson needed to do very little work on this one, just a bit of cleaning and minor steaming to get the shape back to the original style. This fedora belongs to my Grandson and is out of his collection. As we are looking at the pictures we can see the reflection of light on the plastic overlay, that’s all it is, the closeups are just showing light reflecting off the plastic.If you are a fan of Turner Classic Movie Channel you’d see these fedora worn in many many movies! This hat would be worn as everyday fedoras when men did not leave their home without a hat on! You can see that this is an 1950s Stetson because there is a plastic overlay on the liner and the liner design and color. You can see that this Fedora still has everything as far as shaping when it was purchased, this still has that “BUMP” on the top center of the crown. This currently has a Pinched Crown Teardrop shape. We think it’s BEAUTIFUL as it’s currently shaped but if you wanted the pinched in the crown steamed out we will do that, just write and ask. We will send you pictures when it’s done.This is a Brown color as seen in the picture of the whole underside is the best representation of the color. Not sure why we can’t get the color to always come out consistently? Anybody out there has any suggestions?This was cleaned and shaped by my grandson and dad! This looks great with a perfect dip in the front. He’s been working with dad over the last couple of years and now wants to find hats for others, he wants everyone to wear hats and here is his contribution to that cause!The beaver is very very soft and thick. This is a Longer Hair Beaver type. When you see these with the longer hair it because the matching that is used to “Sand” the beaver down smooth on the hat blank does not shave it down all the way and leaves the hairs a bit longer. We have seen this machine at work at Powder River Hats, we saw this in Elisabeth Colorado. He makes hats from hat blank. He still one of the Best custom hat makers around and we were quite privledged to have seen him making hats! My grandson says you can find videos of this sanding process on the Internet.We took out dad’s collection of 1950 Stetson Beaver hat, 3X 10X, 15X, 20X and the TwentyFive. This best matches a 3X Long Hair Beaver. This is a very nice quality hat that could be an everyday hat.
