Description: Vintage 1940s LENHAR' EXQUISITE Extra Fancy Floral Tip Hat. Please note: vintage clothing is used clothing and sold as is. I've had this since the early 1990s. Found in Edmonds, Washington at a tiny antique clothing store. I am downsizing a portion of my hat collection. This is a tough one to part with. It is one of the most colorful and unusual 1940s Tip Hat's I have ever found in all my years of collecting. Exquisite medium pink bonnet style Top Hat with bright pink netting that wraps around the inside brim of Hat and is stitched to the lower back and drapes down the back. Left side back betting needs re-stitched to Hat. Veil wraps around the top of the hat and hangs over the top brim and shields the wearer's eye's. Hat is constructed of some type of faux straw, not certain what this is called? Possibly GIMP? Long and thin strand combined to create the hat. Woven in a circle and sewn together. Adorned with a large very pale lilac flower cluster with green stems, large bright pink Cabbage Rose with white center stems and smaller closed rosebud with leaves and two larger velvety leaves. Back of Hat has a long pointed flap that hangs down behind the hair. Trimmed with brown grosgrain piping. Label reads "LENHAR'" Model. No other labels or markings. Inside unlined. Bright silky taffeta turquoise ribbons are tied in bows with Tails with the hot pink netting strung through the ribbon knots, both ribbons and netting are strung onto a black string band that goes down the center back, this is to wrap around a hair Bun at the lower portion of the head. This stabilizes the ribbons so that they do not move around. The ribbons and netting can be adjusted to fit. Sweet gorgeous condition Tip Hat. Hat measures 8" across side to side middle of hat. Length front to back 11" with back pointed flap, 5" tall, measured from inside of hat to brim edge. Hat is truly a work of art and extremely rare to find such a colorful Tip Hat. Hat sold as is.
