Description: RARE as Hens Teeth1950s Rita Paris/Palitoy Walker Doll Rita is a beautiful doll from the early 1950's by Paris or Palitoy. This particular doll has a lovely honey blonde saran wig with plaits. It is not her original wig but is similar to what her original wig would have been like. Her dress is not original but it is an appropriate style for the era and is a cotton smocked baby dress with full cotton lining, Peter Pan collar and short puff sleeves. It fastens with buttons and buttonholes and has a tie belt at the back. At 23" she is a stunning doll to look at and I think she must have been hard for her little previous owner to handle as she has hairline cracks and a large vertical crack down the back of her torso where she has been dropped. There are signs of surface cracks on her cheeks and also on her chin.There is very little seam separation on her body and neck although she has the aforementioned vertical crack to the back of her torso where she has been dropped at some stage. Her walking mechanism works well and her head still turns when she walks. Her right arm is looser than her left arm possibly due to having had a little left handed owner. She has lovely blue eyes and gorgeous thick eyelashes. Her clothing has been replaced and is in good condition. There is some fading to the front on her face, arms and legs where she has been exposed to the sun. Please study the photos carefully for further information. There is no unpleasant vinegar smell. She is a lovely doll who displays really well. Due to her size and weight she will be sent by tracked delivery. Thank you for your interest.
