Description: For auction is a lovely piece of art pottery made by The Van Briggle Pottery Company of Colorado Springs, Colorado. The item is a vase. The vase is a nice size as it stands 7 1/8" tall and is 3 1/4" in diameter outside dragonfly body. The vase is made in one of Van Briggle's most highly collected glazes known as "Mulberry".The vase has a corseted tapered shoulder shape that is embossed with 2 full body dragonflies. There is one on each side. The detail is sharp and the glaze is outstanding. The background glaze is a deep mulberry with the dragonflies having a blue over glaze. The contrast is striking and beautiful. This is known as shape number 792 in the Van Briggle catalog. The vase is considered to be in excellent condition as there are no cracks, chips, nicks or dings. When held under a bright light you can see crazing upon close inspection. This is quite common with this 2 tone glaze. The inside of the vase shows very minor wear and it appears that it was well taken care of during its use. This piece is signed on the bottom with the impressed Van Briggle Double A Logo mark along with "VAN BRIGGLE" in large block letters with "Colo. SPGS" underneath it. This piece has a sandy bottom with glaze in the recessed signature thus I would date this from the late 1920's to the mid 1930's.This is a wonderful form in excellent condition. Those of you who collect Arts and Crafts design pottery will surely welcome this addition into your collection. I am sure it will look just great on that Stickley, Mission, Arts and Crafts Style Bookcase. PLEASE READ BELOWI want to apologize for slowing down my shipping time. Ebay forced me into managed payments in July 2020. I used to get my money in 24 hours. I now get it in 3-4 business days. I was told it would be better for me and my fees would go down. This has been the opposite as my fees have actually increased and now it takes longer for me to receive the payments. Because of this slowdown I will not ship until the payment has made it into my bank account. No store lets you out of the building with the merchandise unless it is paid for. They are also now charging all sellers a commission of 12.35% on sales tax. Pay Pal used to charge 2.9% payment processing fee but Ebay has changed this to 12.35%. This is an increase of 9.45% on the sales tax portion. They are now making a profit on the sales tax and treating it as a sale which in my eyes is wrong!! They did the same on the shipping charges several years ago. They use to not charge anything and now they are charging 12.35% commission on shipping as well. This has raised the cost to ship items to you, the buyer and this is factored into my shipping charges. If you feel what Ebay is doing is wrong or you don't agree them please contact Ebay and voice your opinion. Maybe if enough of you do this, they will change their policy. CLICK ON THIS LINK BELOW TO SEE MY EBAY STORE CLEMENTS ANTIQUES OF NEW HAMPSHIRE STOREFRONT Please wait for my Invoice before paying.
