LANDGRAFF, DATED 12-02-1983 Picture commemorates the Battleship New Jersey (BB62) after it was re-commissoned at the Long Beach (Calif.) Naval Shipyard on Jan. 15, 1983 The copper sheet is approx. 19 3/4" long, 7" wide. The New Jersey served a total of 21 years (1943-48, 1950-57, 1968-69 & 1982-91) in the active fleet. During her career she earned a Navy Unit Commendation for service in Vietnam, and 19 battle and campaign stars for combat operations during World War II, the Korean War, the Vietnam War, the Lebanese Civil War, and service in the Persian Gulf.
