Olha Petrivna Kosach (her real name) was a legendary poet, translator, scholar, folklorist, ethnographer, publisher, and an active public figure. Her life was full of tireless work for the benefit of the Ukrainian people: from collecting the treasures of Ukrainian folklore and raising a brilliant generation to fighting for the right of Ukrainians to speak and write in their native language. Pchilka’s creative heritage is still relevant today, and her name is a symbol of a Ukrainian woman who combines high intellectual culture, patriotism, and boundless love for Ukraine.Obverse: there is a stylized composition symbolizing Pchilka’s pedagogical and educational activities. In the center of the composition are six flower pots stylized as elements of the Hadiach ornament. This is not just a detail, but a symbol of the writer’s six children, who were brought up in the spirit of Ukrainian traditions. The pot arrangement resembles the battlement of a castle wall, emphasizing the unshakable “fortress of Ukrainian identity” that has resisted hostile influences for centuries. To the right, between the stylized pots is the mint mark of the NBU’s Banknote Printing and Minting Works; the bottom of the coin features the legend УКРАЇНА (Ukraine), the coin’s face value 2, the graphic symbol of the hryvnia ?, Ukraine’s small coat of arms, and the coin’s issue year 20 / 24.Reverse: against a smooth background is a stylized portrait of Olena Pchilka. The image of the woman against the background, the outline of which resembles a crown, impresses with its deep, wise and determined gaze. It seems to pierce through time, reminding us of the eternal significance of Pchilka’s works.
