Description: This fully polished specimen of all-natural authentic Dominican amber from the mines in the Dominican Republic contains a fasincating group of fossils from an ancient, tropical forest. There is a very rare, partial flower (note the large pistil and thrips insect next to it), a large moth (Lepidopteran) accompanied by a smaller one, a true bug, and two flies.Lots to see in this amber fossil!Geological studies have determined Dominican amber to be between 17 and 20 million years old. The piece itself weighs 3.8 grams and has approximate dimensions of 2.8 cm length, 1.7 cm width, and 0.9 cm height. NOTE: 2.5 cm is approximately 1 inch. Please see my feedback.
